Lower back pain is usually caused by lack of circulation and the discs are slowly being compressed due to the lack of movement. While those discs are slowly being compressed, muscles are tightening and some of those muscles fibers are shrinking due to the lack of activities. As we are getting older, there is less elasticity in the tissues leading to further deterioration of the human body. It is very important to stay active so the joints can get proper irrigation and lubrication, and the muscles can remain strong.
Sciatica is usually caused by nerve impingement along vertebrae, muscles… If the joints are not getting irrigated or lubricated, we start observing inflammation and the development of arthritis. It gets worse with the lack of activities and when there is a gain of weight, it is putting more pressure on the spine.
Acupuncture will help to reduce the pain and inflammation so we can start an exercise routine. Working on the diet as well should be planned to reduce the pressure on the spine and the lower extremities.
