Abdominal pain

A new patient came to the clinic with excruciating abdominal pain.
Patient states that she underwent a hysterectomy and during the surgery, her surgeon cut an artery that almost cost her life last September. After spending a few months at the hospital, she returned home with an excruciating abdominal pain. Her physician referred this patient to acupuncture to reduce the pain.
Muscles and fascia have been cut and there is a lot of scar tissue and swelling along the surgical site and around it. Acupuncture is going to help to reduce swelling, scar tissue, pain and finally promoting healing. After the first visit, patient felt a little relief. Due to the gravity of this condition, we are expecting to see this patient twice a week for the next few months.

Abdominal pain can be caused by many conditions and it is very important to make sure that the condition is not a life-threatening. When life-threatening conditions have been ruled out then acupuncture can be a treatment of choice to reduce pain, swelling, scar tissue from previous surgery…

Abdominal scar tissue can cause pain due to the fact, muscles cannot functioned correctly. It is increasing structural  weakness and it forces other muscles to overcompensate. When muscles start to work for other muscle groups, they work harder, it throws the body out of balance and then more issues arise. It is important to address those tissues that have lost their elasticity as soon as possible to restore the physical balance of the human body.
